Silicon carbide heating elements may be mounted either vertically or horizontally at temperatures up to 1600℃ without any special supports. The elements will not deform, and elements can be replaced while furnaces are at operating temperature.

Silicon Carbide Heating Elements Configurations:
Straight Rod Type Elements
Types: E, E2, F, F2, SL, SLD, SH, SHD
Feature: Hot zone in the middle with two cold ends for element connections.
U-Shaped Element
Types: U, U2, SU, SUD
Feature: Two hot zone legs with cold ends, plus a cross bar joining the hot end.
Spiral Grooved Element
Feature: Recrystallised silicon carbide with a spiral groove cut into the hot zone section with two cold ends, for higher temperature operation.
Spiral Groove Return
Type: SGR
Feature: Spiral grooved hot zone, but with only one cold zone, so that all element connections are at the one end.
